Non-Profit Organisation (NPO), Non-Government Organisation (NGO)
We are a non-government (NGO), non-profit organisation (NPO). We are a volunteer driven organisation. We provide child protection services that promote, protect and enhance the safety, well-being and healthy development of children. Our programmes create a safe and caring environment and promote community mobilisation for the effective protection of children. We strengthen and develop capacity in member organisations providing services to children and families. Our national helpline is 0861 4CHILD (0861 424 453). At our branch we support disadvantaged children in our community through our holiday programmes for children which includes face painting, education and awareness about child abuse. We have introduced a special unit called "Junior Child Welfare" where we run recreational and life skills programmes for children in the community. We have a child care programme which entails visiting schools and creches to carry out developmental programmes about child care. We run a family care programme which is directed towards women's and children's rights and we have a help desk at the local court to offer assistance. We run a poverty alleviation programme by which we assist people in gaining employment.
