November is National Diabetes Month!
People live with diabetes all year but November is the time for the rest of the world to take notice of the seriousness of this condition and the need to find a cure. Diabetes can happen to anyone, no one is safe from this condition, and it can strike at any time. As National Diabetes Month gets started, let us all live life to it’s full as a person with Diabetes (or a family member) and bring awareness to the people we come in contact with. This is our month of calling awareness to all! So lets stand up and be noticed. Education is the key to a better life with Diabetes - please help to create awareness of the WHO’s listing of Diabetes as the 4th dread disease in the world. Remember to wear blue on 14 November! Diabetes and HIV/AIDS are inter-related in that some of the medications used in HIV treatment can cause metabolic problems which in turn can lead to an increased risk of diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular complications. It is therefore important that people taking medications are monitored regularly for potential side -effects. Ask Google for a World Diabetes Day Doodle here
